Learning outcomes
A good knowledge of the French language and of the material taught in the anatomy courses MMED B101 and MMED B224 of the Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Namur are essential to follow the course.
Objectives
Firstly, to understand the descriptive and functional anatomy of the major systems that make up the human body. Secondly, to develop a cross-disciplinary knowledge of the subject, which introduces students to topographical anatomy.
Students must memorise the material accurately and rigorously; they must acquire clear, well-structured knowledge, in which the essential is distinguished from the detailed.
Content
The urogenital system, the autonomic nervous system, the head and neck region, the cranial nerves and the sense organs.

Exercises description
The bones of the skull are studied in a flipped classroom.
Depending on the technical possibilities in the dissection room, students observe the viscera on cadavers prepared specifically for this purpose.
Classical treatises and plastinated anatomical specimens are available for free consultation in the Anatomy Library (room M07).

If the health situation linked to the coronavirus allows it, this will be traditional teaching through lectures in an amphitheatre, illustrated by didactic diagrams on the blackboard.
Important note: it is forbidden to capture images or sound during the course, by any means other than taking handwritten notes.
If external circumstances make it necessary, teaching will be organised in a non-presential or mixed format. It is impossible to specify the details at the time of writing.
Evaluations
In terms of content, certain errors are considered unforgivable, notably: incomplete study, errors of orientation or topography, descriptions incompatible with the function of the organ, absence of fundamental structures in the description of an anatomical region.
On the other hand, the ability to establish links between the different chapters of the course is rewarded.
Students are strongly encouraged to sit and pass their exam in the first session. During the August session, material contingencies (number of days available, number of students enrolled, etc.) mean that each student has less time for his or her exam.
Students who turn up at the time and on the day indicated in the invitation for their examination, and who sign their paper without answering, receive an "attendance mark". Students who do not turn up at the time and on the date specified are marked "absent".

The official version of the course syllabus and illustrative diagrams is the one available on the Webcampus website; versions from previous years are of no value.
It seems that course summaries are circulated among students: none of them have been validated by the teacher.
