• Mastery of the major shifts that have affected the history of Belgian French-language literature • Recognition of the main aesthetics that have developed in French-speaking Belgium • Differentiation of these aesthetics with their French equivalents

• Introduce students to the history of Belgian French-language literature

Content

The course will offer an overview of the history of Belgian literature from 1830 to the present day, with an emphasis on the relationship between literature and the society in which it occurs. Sessions devoted to the interpretation of important works will regularly complement the historical and sociological presentation of this literature.
