Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students should have acquired the following skills:
  • understand the different layers that make up the architecture of an enterprise information system
  • understand the data layer in depth and be able to map one model to another
  • understand and deal with the difficulties of mapping different data models
  • Implement a data extraction system from one architecture to another
 

Content

The first part of the course is designed to introduce students to the different functions and components of an enterprise information system architecture, emphasizing the central role that information plays in organizations.
 
The second part is dedicated to the data layer of the architecture and the mechanisms of extraction from one architecture to another.
 
The third part consists of a group work aimed at migrating data from one data model to another. 

Teaching methods

The theoretical part of the course is given in the form of lectures with the possibility for students to ask questions and interact on the material. These lectures are illustrated by concrete cases and problems encountered in companies.
 
The second part of the course will be carried out in groups and will consist in the delivery of an executable migration process between two data models

Evaluations

The exam consists in the delivery of a groupwork and its oral defense.
