Objectives

The goal of this course is to equip the students to understand the business and the more technical aspects of blockchain technology, in its initial application in the digital currency Bitcoin, bust mostly in the applications currently being explored in various types of industries.  The goal is to give the students the tools necessary to understand the implications that the blockchain can have on business models we know today.

Content

This course covers blockchains and its related topics.  The technology has been appearing in Gartner’s Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for a couple years.  “The technology holds the promise to change industries, and although the conversation often surrounds financial opportunities, blockchain has many potential applications in government, healthcare, content distribution, supply chain and more.” Gartner.
