Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:
* Understand the different concepts and how they relate to each other.
* Understand the role of the different actors in emergency planning and how they interact.
* Implement resilience policies and adaptation measures
* Avoiding commonplace recommendations
* Understand the social, economic and political issues related to good governance, resilience policies and adaptation measures.
 

Content

During the academic year, students are invited to take part in a number of academic activities both on and off the Arlon campus. These activities are mainly seminars, screenings, conferences, etc., and cover a range of themes. In addition, former students of the ARES-CDD programme and/or other risk and disaster management professionals share their experiences through direct exchanges with the students.

Evaluations

Produce a report summarising what you have learned from your participation in the various events, establishing a link with your academic training. The report must be based on two major experiences (symposia, screenings, films or exchanges with programme alumni and/or professionals in the field), from which you will draw the context, the summary and establish the link with your training in terms of what you have learned. The report must not exceed 5 pages.  The report must be produced individually and will be graded on both form and content.
