Learning outcomes
To understand the principles of radioisotope production using particle accelerators or neutron irradiators.
Content
The course focuses on life science: we discuss the use and production of radioisotopes which are essentially used in the hospital environment.
Two styles of production are evaluated: production using charged particles and production using a neutron flux.
The particle accelerators will be described, and more precisely the cyclotron used in hospitals to produce radioisotopes with a short half-life.
