  • 5 credits
  • 30h+15h
  • 1st quarter
Language of instruction: French / Français

Learning outcomes

A thorough understanding of the emission and scattering of electromagnetic waves and the mathematical formalism of the theories describing these phenomena.

Objectives

Master the theories of emission and diffusion of electromagnetic waves

Content

Theory of electromagnetic potentials. Theory of electromagnetic wave emission, waves emitted by moving particles. Theory of the diffusion of electromagnetic waves. Mie's diffusion theory.

Prerequisites

Physique mathématique I [SPHYB210] et Electrodynamique I [SPHYB209]

Teaching methods

Lecture on the blackboard.

Evaluations

Oral examination on the board. The student draws a question at random from a list and orally presents the answer to the teacher.
