Objectives

The goal is to identify and study the mathematical concepts behind well known technological applications.

Content

Some examples of applications: Pagerank, GPS, CD-Rom, Image compression...


Teaching methods

Several technologies will be selected each year. Different pedagogic approaches will be adopted, namely the preparation of a seminar or the design of videos.

Evaluations

Oral presentation of a technological application and realisation of a scientific outreach project, each one for 50% of the final mark.
