Learning outcomes

Observe, describe and interpret the main processes leading to the formation of magmatic and metamorphic rocks, in relation with major structures on Earth.

Content

Description of the stucture of Earth, including volcanism, plutonism and metamorphism, using the main mineralogical and petrographical classifications. Geochemical and physical properties of magmas. Partial melting. Evolution of rocks with P/T variations on Earth.

Introduction à la radiocristallographie et minéralogie [SCHIB207]

Teaching methods

Course + Pratictal teaching using polarization microscope.

Evaluations

Written examination (theoretical concepts) + oral practical examination.
