Environmental migration is a key issue today. The question of how environmental and climate change affect migration movements is the subject of controversial debate not only among scientists, but also among policy makers and the general public. The number of people moving for environmental reasons is expected to increase, especially in light of climate change predictions. It is important to understand the mechanisms that link the environment, its changes and human mobility. This understanding is necessary for appropriate policy-making.
