Understand the main concepts of evolutionary theory from historical facets to molecular mechanisms. To be able to discuss and argue in groups about evolutionary issues.

Objectives

Every biologist must be able to understand the mechanisms of the evolution of species, from an organismic and molecular point of view. This course aims to provide the keys to understanding the modern issues related to the theory of evolution.

Content

The evolution course is a synthesis course for first degree biologists and is taught by different professors from UCL and UNamur. It consists of a theoretical part given in an auditorium by the different teachers and a day of seminars for the exam. The theoretical part is itself divided into a series of strands that address different aspects of evolution.
