Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to design a research project from the bench to the bedside. The development of biomarkers is taken as an example. Furthermore, they will acquire the basic skills to manage a research project in the industry.

Objectives

This course aims to prepare students to design research projects and to manage them at the academic and industrial levels.

Content

Regulatory aspect linked to the development of biomarkers is addressed in depth. Then, several research projects are presented to illustrate:

  • The upstream steps to the experimental work
  • The diversity of experimental approaches that can be taken on.

What's the difference in the management of a research project in academia and in the industry?


Teaching methods

Interactive seminars during which the management of research projects is addressed using concrete examples.

Evaluations

Written exam.

The exact modalities of the evaluation are likely to be modified during the preparation of the examination schedules, depending on the practical constraints with which the faculty administration may be confronted, or in the event of illness / force majeure / encroachment with an internship, or because of the health situation related to the coronavirus.
