This course is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of pharmacology based on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Relevant molecules of pharmaceutical interest will be covered in this course.
The objective of this course is to understand the basic principles of pharmacology and the sciences that govern it. The link with other courses in the pharmaceutical curriculum will be frequently mentioned.
The main concepts of pharmacology will be covered: - Mode of action of drugs: general principles, molecular and cellular aspects - Methods and measurements in pharmacology - Concepts of ADME - Pharmacokinetics
The student will be provided with full lecture notes. The slides presented in the oral course will also be available on Webcampus. Sample examination questions will be provided at the end of the course.
