Acquisition of several key concepts in the literary and artistic history of Europe in the period 1850-1940. We analyse the terms realism - naturalism - impressionism - symbolism - futurism - Dadaism - surrealism - existentialism in their origins, developments and artistic and societal applications.
The course presents the evolution of the semantic fields of the eight 'codes' mentioned with the help of manifestos, novels and poems, images and music. The student is provided with a complete syllabus and the powerpoints used.
The course is given in interaction with the students, using visual material (ppt).
A written examination is held at the end of the academic year.
