Learning outcomes

- to acquire the techniques of analysis and interpretation of historical sources, as well as a reflective and critical awareness in the practice of the historical approach; - acquire a strong capacity for information analysis, synthesis and writing.

Objectives

The course aims to teach history students to use text analysis tools that vary according to the type of documents used and the perspective adopted by the researcher.

Content

The course will alternate between theoretical and practical sessions which will aim to apply the different tools of textual analysis.


Teaching methods

This practical course is based on the active participation of the students in and out of the sessions (individual or group work).

Evaluations

Written exam which consists in analysing a text not seen in the course and in giving some theoretical elements.
