Teaching methods

During the observation period, the trainee observes a professional in his or her daily life for one week. He/she may participate in certain tasks, but does not leave his/her role of attentive observer. The trainee should also interview the professional to better understand certain aspects, issues and problems of his/her work. This observation period should enable the student to better understand the activities he/she is observing and to put them into context. It will also enable the student to form a personal opinion on the functioning of the host institution. The trainee should also have a good understanding of the way the institution operates and the tasks it is expected to perform.

Evaluations

According to article 13, § 1 of the Regulations governing studies and examinations in the first cycle: "Every student has the right to take part twice in the evaluations organised by the faculty for the same learning activity during the same academic year, except in the case of practical work, internships, reports or personal work for which the faculty authorities provide for only ONE EVALUATION. If, by virtue of the provisions of article 26 §§ 1 and 2, the year of study is declared successful at the end of the deliberation relating to the first session, the preceding paragraph does not apply, the decision taken by the jury being considered as final. The evaluation is based on a written and illustrated report.
