Learning outcomes

This course aims to confront the student with a certain number of issues through the critical and in-depth study of various aspects of Modern Art (excluding architecture).

Content

Building on the general introduction to the art of the Modern Periods in Bac 1, this course aims at a more in-depth study of one or more artistic fields, chosen from one or more periods, based on specific themes that can be developed in painting, sculpture, goldsmithing, stained glass, etc. The themes of the course change every year.


Teaching methods

This course requires the active participation of students. The analysis of the works and the clarification of the issues addressed are extended through field visits and a short study trip. A DVD containing the illustrative part of the course is made available to students.
