Learning outcomes

This course will analyse links existing between ICT and sustainable development. It aims at making students sensitive to the challenges of sustainable development and help them to think about the non-neutral role of ICT in the debate on sustanable development.

Content

Studied topics will include: - The definition of the notion of sustainable development; - Indicators for sustainable development; - Environment management systems; - Life Cycle Analysis; - Green IT: how can the impact of ICT be minimised? - IT for Green: How can ICT be used to reduce environmental impacts?
