Learning outcomes

The HD dissertation is produced in a step-by-step process in which students are required to produce regular progress reports, which are evaluated and discussed with the teaching staff.

Objectives

The aim of the dissertation is to carry out a quantitative research project.

Content

The dissertation includes the identification of the research question, a relevant statistical or econometric method, the collection of data and the interpretation of the results. The research paper will be introduced by a motivational statement (why is it important to study the chosen topic?) and a comprehensive literature review.


Teaching methods

The dissertation is managed by the dissertation team, which consists of one full member and three assistants.

Evaluations

The thesis is defended orally by the student in front of a jury composed of the thesis team member and at least one other FASEG academic. The rating, decided by the jury, is based on the written report as well as the oral defence.
