Deep understanding and presentation of a 'fundamental' research paper.

Contenu

Students are supposed to choose one paper in a list of fundamental papers. They prepare a short presentation of the paper that shows that he/she deeply understood the paper. The student should do 'as if' he/she were the author of the paper, and understood the implications of the main assumptions, the possible applications, generalizations,... During the presentation, the student will be asked questions of clarification and points of discussion by the professors attending it, who will also decide on the mark. Each presentation lasts 15 minutes with 15 minutes left for discussion.
