Learning outcomes

To teach the legal answers to the questions linked to new threats and risks for privacy and personal data raised by the technological developments

Content

The reasons of this course lie in the growing impact ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) have on society, democracy and individual freedoms. This course focuses on privacy and personal data protection in the current technical developments context (creation of data bases, videosurveillance, danger for privacy deriving from the Internet, controls on the workplace, connected objects, Internet of Things, Big Data,...). The course presents the regulation adopted in response to these new dangers as well as the most important case-law.


Teaching methods

The methodology is a mix of classical oral presentation and case studies
