Learning outcomes

The Special Issues in Public Law course is part of the Political and Administrative Sciences elective. It is intended to complement the basic or general training in public law provided through the compulsory third-level course in administrative law. However, it is based on a different approach, more focused on the study of public law issues related to current social challenges, through the completion of different learning activities. This course also aims to improve the student's mastery of transversal skills, such as • communicate, in writing and orally, an idea, a reasoning or the fruit of legal research in compliance with scientific ethics; • working in groups ; • public speaking ; • master the technical tools of communication (powerpoint, etc.) • use the French language as a tool for legal thinking.

Content

The course addresses, in depth, certain issues of public law, according to current social issues. The following topics may therefore be studied during the course, which will be adapted according to the most recent news: • public law and mobility (e.g. the study of special economic policies and the Uber case); • public law and broadcasting (e.g. access to airtime for political parties); • public law and the environment (e.g. the Climate Law); • public law and public space (e.g. occupation of the public domain).
