Learning outcomes

To articulate the learning of different concepts and paradigms with the more direct concerns of law students. The objective is neither to confine oneself to the sociology of law, nor to bring students to a level of expertise in this field. The aim will be 1° to encourage critical thinking and a questioning approach for future law professionals, 2° to show how sociology can shed particular light on questions relating to the law

Content

Issues of norm, deviance, rule of law, social issues, social reaction will be the main thread of this course. Articulating the learning of different concepts and paradigms with the more direct concerns of law students will be a constant concern.


Teaching methods

The course is organised on the basis of 30 hours in an auditorium. A syllabus is available.

Evaluations

Written exam with some multiple choice questions (definitions of concepts, etc.) and some open questions (questions of understanding, comparison between authors, etc.)
