Wafa Hammedi, Ph.D, is Professor of Service Innovation and Marketing at the University of Namur-Belgium. She received her Ph.D from the Institute for Management Research, Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Her primary research interests include service innovation, actor ( User, customer and frontline employees) engagement. She is also interested in co-creation mechanisms ( eg: gamification) during open/collaborative innovation and within digital platforms in Business-to Business and B-to-C contexts. Her ongoing projects include vulnerable service users (e.g. patients, users in the bottom of the pyramid ) and also vulnerable service frontline employees ( eg: disabled , ill-being, etc).
She has published in highly recognized journals such as the Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Interactive Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Service Management, Journal of Brand Management, Journal of Service Marketing, Decision Management, Recherche et Applications en Marketing, International Journal of Electronic Commerce, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Marketing Management, etc.
She is the co-founder of the Annual Doctoral Symposium in the Service field "AMA - SERVSIG - Let's Talk About Service”. She serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Services Marketing, and is member of the Editorial Boards of several journals. She was invited to guest edit special issues for several journals: Journal of Services Marketing , Recherche et Applications en Marketing (A-ranked journal of the French Marketing Association), Journal of International Marketing, Psychology& Marketing.
She won several research Awards and has obtained multiple research grants ( FEDER, BNB, Walloon Region among others ..). She collaborates closely with firms and was granted the 2013& 2015 IBM Faculty Award .This global IBM competition recognizes the quality of Professor Hammedi’s research and its importance to the service industry. She is a co-founder of CIRCE Creativity and Innovation Research Center at the University of Namur and member of the Cercle- Research Centre on Consumption and Leisure and the Namur digital Institute. She is also an academic Scholar at Cornell University -USA and an invited expert at the European commission.
