Angélique IBANEZ ARISTONDO

 

Introduction

Angélique Ibáñez Aristondo is a Marie Curie C2W Postdoctoral Researcher at the History Department of the University of Namur.  Her current project grapples with the history of gender-based violence in relation to colonialism in Senegal and across the French empire during the interwar period. Broader research interests include Francophone and French historical, cultural, and literary studies (19th-21st c.); Narratives of gender-based violence across time and place; History and memory of conflicts (First World War, (post)colonialism); Gender History, Visual Studies, Legal History; Imperial, Colonial, and Postcolonial History; as well as Teaching & Learning Pedagogy.

Before joining Namur in 2022, she completed her doctoral research at the City University of New York. Before that, she worked as a teacher, journalist, and web news editor in New York and Paris. And before that, she did her MA in Media Studies and BA in Philosophy in Lyon and Tours, France, while working as a waitress, salesperson, and more.
