Isabelle Parmentier


Isabelle Parmentier is a Full Professor in History at the University of Namur and the head of the research unit PolleN (Pôle de l’histoire environnementale de l’Université de Namur). Her research focuses on the history of pollution, economic and social history, as well as urban history (Charleroi, Nivelles, Namur), from the 18th to the 21st century. She is a member of the PAI n°P7/26: City and Society in the Low Countries (ca. 1200-ca. 1850). The 'condition urbaine': between resilience and vulnerability project and the Namur supervisor of the "Recherches historiques sur les produits du terroir wallon" project, which is supported by Wallonia.
